This is a group ensemble course for students who have completed the Beginning Percussion class or already have had experience in percussion. This group will perform independently as well as with other ensembles as needed. A certain level of percussion ability and music experience is required. Please contact the instructor if you have questions about whether you qualify. Students will learn intermediate percussion techniques on various percussion instruments and will perform in the KEYS Winter and Spring Concerts. Students do not need to own their own instruments but will be expected to have their own drum sticks and a practice pad. Instruments provided: concert snare drums, bass drum, cymbals, vibraphone, marimbas, glockenspiels, marching drum line drums, timpani, and other auxiliary percussion. Students in this ensemble will have the option to participate in a Drumline Camp (August 26-*29) to prepare for parades during the school year. Those who participate will pay one month’s tuition in August. See the Advanced Percussion description for more information about Drumline Camp. *Intermediate students would only participate Monday - Thursday. Friday is for Advanced Students only.
