Mixed Choir is a NON-AUDITION choir open to everyone in grades 6-12 who like to sing! Students will study music theory, proper vocal techniques, sight-singing (solfeggio), rhythmic training, and vocal repertoire. Students in this choir will be expected to: work hard and achieve great things vocally, practice their music daily, complete and turn in weekly assignments, participate in all concerts, and be given the opportunity to audition for VMEA District Events, which include District Chorus 7-12 and All-State Choir. We will have fun! Expectations: at least 60 minutes of out-of-class practice on music, Sight Reading Factory, and two-page theory assignments per week. (If theory has previously been studied, Mrs. Parker will be glad to provide a placement test to see which level book is best. Theory books can be purchased by the proper level, not the whole 3 in 1.)
