Liz Keen grew up doing plays and decided she wanted to be a theatre director in high school, despite her disastrous directorial debut of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever with a bunch of elementary students! (It was a classic case of life imitating art.) Undeterred, she kept at it, directing two more productions in high school and then attending Berry College, where she majored in Theatre. She received her BA from Berry and her MA in Theatre from Regent University, mostly focusing on technical theatre and directing. Occasionally, she pursued other passions, like volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club, managing a Christian camp for kids who were underprivileged, and serving a year in an AmeriCorps children’s literacy initiative. While at Regent, she met Scott (who is a writer and filmmaker), got married, and started building a family! Even though, over the years, she's had to get some "practical" jobs, she always found time to direct plays and musicals for various theatre companies, churches, and groups. About five years ago, she and Scott started producing their own films as well. After living in Georgia and New York for many years, Liz now resides in Virginia Beach with Scott and their five daughters.
